Lithium niobate is one of the most remarkable crystal materials in technology: its polar lattice carries a permanent ferroelectric polarisation and combines piezoelectric, pyroelectric, electro-optic and nonlinear-optical properties in a single material. That is why it is used today in high-frequency engineering, photonics, sensor technology and even in hybrid quantum systems with superconducting circuits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor Crystal Vortex™ technology, what interests us most is its pronounced \u003cstrong\u003eelectrical polarity\u003c\/strong\u003e. Nanobubbles, too, carry an electrically charged interface; their negative surface charge – the zeta potential – is decisive for how stable they remain in water.
