Why a water filter?
Although tap water in Germany is subject to strict regulations, not all potential pollutants can be completely filtered out – including microplastics, drug residues and heavy metals. Mineral water is not a safe alternative: under the regulations, it is tested less frequently than tap water.

The Aquadea-Q1 filter cartridge used in the Ukato Solo combines:

Activated carbon block (0.8 µm) with Aqualen® fibers – reliably binds heavy metals, pesticides, chlorine & more. Aqualen increases heavy-metal retention immensely.
- The Japanese hollow fiber membrane (0.1 µm) – a germ barrier that filters out ultra-fine particles and microorganisms -> see the extended analysis
Regularly tested by Institut Ehrlich – for consistently high filter quality.

Replacement interval: Please always replace the Aquadea-Q1 cartridge after 6 months. The germ barrier is guaranteed to remain germ-tight for up to 6 months after it first gets wet. The filter capacity is about 11,000 liters per cartridge – more than even a large household usually uses in that time.
Please note: The electrical conductivity of the water does not change when using this cartridge (ppm or µS, microsiemens). Electrical conductivity only indicates how much calcium/magnesium is in the water. It says nothing about pollutants.

Duo - following the direction of flow, every six months: K7 or

Both water filter units deliver the same performance, as they use the same
filter cartridge.
The difference lies first of all in the design. The Okato Nature water filter has a wooden head and a wooden base, is more solid, has a longer, thicker spout and a wider base.
The Okato Style water filter has a plastic head and a narrower base. Its spout is thinner and shorter. Overall it is smaller and lighter, which is an advantage when traveling, in a motorhome or in small kitchens.
The Okato Nature water filter, on the other hand, is well suited for use with multi-level vortexers or with kitchen sinks that have a very wide rim.
To purify water on a material level, you need a water filter.

Yes, Aquadea water filters also remove medication residues.
The filtration performance here lies between 82% and 98%.
As a general rule, let the water run until it comes out cool (the same temperature as straight from the tap); depending on the type of filter, this can be up to 10 liters. If you are away for 3–4 weeks or longer, the cartridges can be stored in the refrigerator. This means: for under-sink versions, shut off the water supply, remove the cartridges by unscrewing them, wrap them airtight in plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator. The cartridges can be stored there for up to four months and then used again. The filter change interval is then extended by the storage period.
